We created Data Leak Defender to finally put an end to data leaks. Don't you hate it when you have to change your password because someone is monitoring your data? We believe this extension should be on everyone's devices, as data leaks are something nobody should experience. Our extension is widely accessible and on 4 of the most popular PC browsing search engines
Data Leak Defender monitors your web activity and alerts you if personal data is at risk of being shared with third parties. Stay secure with zero effort.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or issues, email us at:
dataleakdefender@gmail.com
Make sure you haven’t paused protection. Also, check the Customize tab to ensure the data types you expect to block are toggled ON. The more types you enable, the more sensitive the extension becomes.
Try refreshing the extension or restarting your browser. This can happen if your Internet connection is not the best.
Click “Report false positive” if it’s a trusted site. Remember, data leak defender sees if information is being leaked to other sites, and you can see the site it is being leaked to. If the site that it is being leaked to is shady, you should leave that site immediately even if it is trusted. Review the destination domain first. After reporting, warnings continue but requests aren’t blocked. Email further concerns to dataleakdefender@gmail.com.
Having too many toggles on for personal data is not the best option. While it may seem like you may want all toggled ON, if you toggle on things like Date of Birth, if a random place is being sent to another website, it will get flagged.
On the License page above, our github withs all of the source code is linked, and if you open up test html in your browser, the popup should appear
If the popup does not show, it is most likely that you are opening test html in a file url and it is not working. on extension setting, click all fire urls allowed. If this does not work, make sure you have the customized information checked for the test info.
